Though this may seem surprising, hemorrhoids have become one of the most common diseases throughout the world, with a share of about 75%. The causes of this condition are lack of exercise, constipation and fiber-free or chaotic diet.
Hemorrhoids are bumps in the rectum and can be located both inside and outside the rectum. When they swell (when blood is pumped in that area) they become very painful.
How to treat hemorrhoids naturally:
If you do not want to resort to surgery, you can turn to some natural ways to treat and prevent hemorrhoids. Here are the most effective remedies:
1. Herbal tea blend
Teas made from milfoil, chamomile, knotweed, comfrey or marshmallow will be helpful if you want to treat your hemorrhoids.
Mix these plants in equal proportions and infuse for 10 minutes in a cup of boiling water. Drink a cup of tea 20 minutes before meals. Do this daily for 1 month. At the same time, try to do exercise and stand up 5 minutes for every hour you spend sitting.
2. Clay poultices
If you suffer from external hemorrhoids you can turn to clay poultices. Mix 5 tablespoons of clay with warm water until you obtain a paste. Apply the paste to the inflamed area and leave it on for 2 hours.
For best results, apply this paste every day for a month.
Cabbage can successfully treat hemorrhoids. Chop a cabbage leaf and apply it on the affected area. Let it act a few minutes and repeat the procedure every day for two months.
4. Wormwood hip bath
Hip baths are very effective in removing pain caused by hemorrhoids. Wormwood is best in this case due to its soothing and astringent properties.
Besides wormwood hip baths we recommend using oak bark tea because it has a healing effect.
Mix two teaspoons of each plant half a gallon of hot water. Hip bath should last about 20 minutes and should be repeated every three days for a month.
5. Vegetables, flax seeds and whole grains
Unbalanced and unhealthy diet is one of the main causes of hemorrhoids. You should follow a balanced diet to prevent and relieve the symptoms of hemorrhoids.
Add to your daily diet as many vegetables, fruits and whole grains for an optimal fiber intake that will help digestion.
At the same time, flax seeds have laxative and anti-inflammatory effect. Consume ground flax seed twice a day and drink as much water. Hemorrhoids will disappear quickly.
6. Ice cubes
Ice cubes compresses are another fast cure to relieve pain caused by hemorrhoids.
Put some ice cubes in a plastic bag and apply it directly to the hemorrhoids.
Let it act one minute and the pain and itching will disappear quickly.
This remedy treats both swelling and bleeding hemorrhoids.
To treat external hemorrhoids, apply a small amount of Aloe Vera to the affected area and slowly massage.
To treat internal hemorrhoids, cut Aloe Vera leaves in strips. Be sure to cut off the thorn-like parts of the plant. Place the slices in a container and freeze them. Apply the cold Aloe Vera strip to the hemorrhoid to relieve pain, burning and itching.
