Homemade Natural Cough Sweets to Get Rid of Flu

Today you’ll learn how to make your own natural cough sweets. They are perfect to help soothe sore throat and act as a great natural cold and flu remedy.

You will need:

– 1 cup of sugar
– 1/2 cup of water
– 1 tablespoon of lemon juice
– 1 Tablespoon of honey
– 1/2 teaspoon of ground ginger
– 1/4 teaspoon of ground cloves

Directions:

Put a pan on the hob. Fill it with 1 cup of sugar and half a cup of water. Also, add 1 tablespoon of lemon juice and 1 tablespoon of honey.
Next, add half a teaspoon of ground ginger and a quarter teaspoon of ground cloves.

Turn on the heat and give it a good stir. When the pan start to simmer put it on a low heat. Leave the pan on simmering for about 15-20 minutes making sure you’re stirring regularly.

While you’re waiting, put the baking paper on the baking tray. After about 15-20 minutes, take the pan off the heat and let it cool down for a few minutes. The mixture should be now ready to be poured on the baking paper to make your little cough sweets. Use a spoon and be careful not to burn yourself because it is very hot.

When you’re done, let them cool down for 20 minutes and cover them with a dusting of powdered icing sugar. This will stop them sticking together. Take them off the paper and make sure they’re all well coated.
