Nail fungus is a common condition that appears as a white or yellow stain under the nail. The fungus can affect both the nail and the toenails. In addition, it can spread from one nail to another. It usually occurs due to exposure to moisture or mold. Most of the time, nail fungus is not painful, but it requires treatment.
How to treat nail fungus with natural remedies
There are some natural remedies that can help you get rid of nail fungus. Tea tree oil has proven to be very effective for this problem because of its antiseptic properties. Simply put a few drops of oil directly on the nail or soak a piece of cotton wool and then wrap the affected area. You can also mix tea tree oil and olive oil and apply the solution twice a day.
Another remedy is to chop garlic very finely and mix it with white vinegar to form a paste. Apply the paste on the affected area. Let it act until you feel a sting sensation.
Apple cider vinegar is also effective in treating nail fungus due to its antibacterial properties. Apple vinegar acid stops the spread of the fungus and kills the bacteria. Mix equal parts of vinegar and water in a basin, and then soak the affected finger for 30 minutes. You need to repeat this process daily, making sure to dry well the affected area after each “therapy”.
Lavender oil is another product that can help you treat nail fungus. Lavender oil has antiseptic properties. Heat it a little, then soak a cotton pad in the solution and wrap your finger for a few minutes. Repeat the process several times a day.
